Lots of sketches from around Pont-Aven and then a few from Spain. Madrid was the place to go for museums. El Prado houses the 3rd of May (which we didn't get to see since it's under repairs), Durers' self-portrait, Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights, Velazquez' Las Meninas, Carravagio's Slaying of Isaac, Medusa, etc.
Loved it but it was so overwhelming.
Saw a ton of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist works among more ancient and modern works and then a lifetimes worth of Picasso and Miro the last day. Otherwise I did not really enjoy Madrid. We had a run-in on the subway and my teacher was mugged so I didn't feel too safe. The food was too much for my stomach to handle so I felt sick a lot, :( The language barrier was hard to deal with but I managed. Barcelona was really beautiful but the museum we saw was a huge letdown. The Gaudi architecture is worth a trip though and I'd like to go again with Steph or Axel lol!
Here are highlights of my sketchbook from Spain and before.
YAY!! Excitement! I was waiting for the next blog installment and here it is. I'm loving your pages and pages of sketching. It looks like your getting a lot of inspiration which is ultimately the goal of this semester. Relaxing, enjoying your time away from Florida and stress and blehhh and just experiencing the European life. I'm so happy for you love, keep up the grood work!
ReplyDeletep.s. I heart the giraffe and the palace guard. Oh so epic. :)
